Doctoral and Post-Doctoral positions available in Stem Cells, Development, Disease, and Tissue Engineering
The WL Stanford lab is seeking doctoral and post-doctoral trainees to join the following CIHR, NSERC, and NCE funded projects including:
1) Analysis of mouse models of human hematopoietic diseases generated by ENU mutagenesis;
2) Genetic analysis of hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal using gene trap mutagenesis;
3) Development of a new source of mesenchymal stem cells from the human umbilical cord for bone and cartilage tissue regeneration;
4) Tissue engineering mesoderm tissues from mouse and human ES cells;
5) Developing tissue engineered blood vessels using embryonic stem cells;
6) Identification of small molecules and their targets that modulate stem cell self-renewal.
The multidisciplinary research of our laboratory is an extension of the PI's diverse scientific training and the background and expertise of our trainees (including developmental biologists, chemical and biomedical engineers, geneticists, and molecular biologists).
